A classical education would be incomplete without music and art classes. In TK through fourth grades, students engage in choir, where they learn the fundamentals of music theory such as beat, rhythm, and note-reading. In fifth and sixth grades, the students’ musical education is deepened with music history lessons and listening exercises aimed at building their appreciation and enjoyment of music.
In art classes, TK through eighth grades, the students study the vast artistic traditions of western and eastern civilizations. Each lesson begins with master studies and a discussion of different techniques. Students work with a variety of media like acrylics, watercolor, clay, and oil pastels. They learn the basics of color theory, composition, and visual harmony.
