English Language Arts

“In the beginning was the Word…” (John 1:1). Because God has chosen to deliver the greatest Truths of our Faith in written form, it is crucial that our students learn to read and write well. Starting with phonetic awareness in TK/K, students at Kolbe-Trinity are challenged to gain increasing mastery of the English language in order to be able to share Truth with the world clearly and beautifully. The backbone of our English curriculum is the Institute for Excellence in Writing, which is then fortified through the use of Easy Grammar’s approachable lessons. Their vocabulary and spelling are enriched with Sadlier-Oxford’s Vocabulary Workshop series from first through sixth grades.
