About the Classic Learning TestAs a classical school we do not adopt a "teach to the test" approach to learning, nor should we be slavishly devoted to standards. Our primary goal is to form minds, hearts, and souls and from that approach also achieve specific learning goals. However, we do trust the standards behind the CLT and the tests do provide important data regarding our students' academic achievement.
Developed in 2015, the CLT is designed to address the needs of schools like ours: an objective, outside metric that tests students skills in reading, writing, and mathematic while upholding traditional values and the best that West civilization has to offer. We are so excited to offer this test to our students and honored to be one of the pilot schools for the 3-6th grade tests.

Why CLT?
As opposed to the PSAT, Sat, or ACT, the CLT is designed to address the goals of classical education. This means that the CLT targets:
- shorter exams
- comprehensive feedback for teachers and administrators
- critical and logical thinking
- achievement and aptitude
- classical and historical texts with which the students' have a familiarity
The CLT is accepted at over 280 colleges, including some of the nation's most prominent Catholic colleges. Participating colleges include:

- Franciscan University of Steubenville
- Hillsdale
- Christendom
